Feng Shui is the study of invisibly force known as chi that is generated from wind, water and objects. Chi is the energy that causes motion and vitality in life.
Good chi is healthy, strong and balanced. Poor Chi is weak, ailing and imbalanced. By moving objects or changing its placement at our homes, we can enhance Chi. Thus we can balance and improve our life circumstances and reduce tension and stress.
Shar chi is negative energy. Sharp angles contain shar chi and they are like ‘poison arrows’ that generate negative energy to the area they point to. People who are having activities at these inauspicious areas are likely to be quick-tempered and quarrel frequently. A shar’s energy can be blocked by filling in the angle.
A house should be as airy as possible, uncluttered and attractive with plenty of light to attract beneficial chi. However, you should never sleep under a beam or with any other objects such as a windchime or ceiling light place directly over your head. This will cause the person to have restless sleeps. Stairways are like beams, thus it is inauspicious for door to face a stairway directly. This can affect family harmony and finances.
Mirrors are common in bedrooms. However, many feng shui practitioners see them as inauspicious and it should not be placed in couple’s rooms. They believe that mirrors reflect aggressive energy and strain the relationship of the couple who sleep there and causes bad luck to the single person. By using a smaller mirror will reduce the negative energy.
